Rewind #5 (11/11/15)

Atlas: Year Two - Sleeping At Last

Ryan O’Neal (Sleeping At Last) has been busy with lots of projects, including scoring a film soundtrack for ‘Many Beautiful Things’ and he’s started releasing tracks for Atlas: Year Two. The first part of which is titled ‘Life’ and includes tracks ‘Life’, ‘Son’ and ‘Daughter’ as well as an intro, ‘Overture II’. The most recent track is ‘Touch’ from the 'Senses EP' and is his usual easy listening track with a stunning piano melody and Ryan’s wonderful vocals accompanied perfectly with strings.

Feels Like Only Yesterday - Mi'das

'Feels Like Only Yesterday' is the fantastic new single from Mi'das, with his trademark soulful vocals and guitar, and hints of the 60s and 70s this song is musically and lyrically engaging. The lyrics reminisce on the worry free innocence of youth and this is just another track from an incredibly talented artist. After releasing three EPs this year, next year is set to see his debut album 'All Inside Your Head' released - and I'm really looking forward to it.

Death In The Afternoon LP - Death In The Afternoon
Recently, we featured Death In The Afternoon and their single '82', but now they've released a new self-titled LP. It was picked up by Spotify on the day of the release, and have gained support from GQ Magazine, The Music Ninja and The Line of Best Fit, amongst others. It's full of cinematic and atmospheric wonderfulness and if you like M83 or Young Galaxy - you're bound to love this.

Dream - Mountain Bird

We previously featured Mountain Bird just over a year ago, and now he’s releasing more fantastic ethereal synth-pop music. ‘Dream’ stays true to the sound of Mountain Bird’s previous releases with heavy bass lines, superb synths, an incredibly catchy chorus bursting with energy and of course a refreshing intensity to the music but contrasting calm element to the vocals.

Breathe Life - Jack Garratt
Here is an exciting taster from one of our favourite spotlight musicians, Jack Garratt. The 24-year-old multi-instrumentalist recently released this single, 'Breathe Life' and is a big taster for his forthcoming debut album 'Phase' (set to be released 19th February 2016). Jack has just been awarded 'Artist of the Year' from BBC Introducing, well deserved and I'm sure next year is going to be even bigger and better for him.
