Rewind #7 (24/02/16)

1. Phase - Jack Garratt
One of our favourite spotlighted artists, Jack Garratt has had a very busy couple of months, and that is set to continue for the rest of the year too. Jack won Critic's Choice at Brit Awards 2016, BBC Sound Poll of 2016 and was on MTV's Brand New 2016 shortlist. He's just released his fantastic debut album 'Phase', which topped the Official UK Albums chart, beating the record-breaking Adele album, '25'. Now he's heading out on tours across the US, Canada, UK and Europe over the next three months and then is hitting festival season hard with slots already announced! Keep on keeping your eyes and ears on this guy, this album is definitely a favourite for this year.

2. Something New - ALXNDR

North East trio, ALXNDR, have just released a great new track, 'Something New' and have also announced nine date UK tour during April (dates and tickets here). The 90's infused alt. pop band's debut EP 'RWND' catapulted them into the iTunes and Hype Machine charts, and their latest video for 'Four A.M.' hit 25k view in less than 24 hours... 'Something New' is a brilliant track and summarises why these guys are gaining attention rapidly, they're an emerging band that are going places...

3. Home EP - Lucy Spraggan

Since Lucy Spraggan's third album release last year, she's graced stages at festivals, toured the UK and now is back with her latest EP 'Home'. The release features three tracks 'Home', 'Yes, This One's For You' and 'Skylights', as well as a new version of the incredibly popular (and emotively brilliant) 'Tea and Toast' and explains the story behind the song too... It's a great four track EP and yet again showcases Lucy's songwriting and talent perfectly!

4. Burn It Down EP - Billy Lockett
We featured Billy and his title track from his (then) forthcoming EP 'Burn It Down', it's since been released and he's also announced a UK tour in March (dates and tickets here). It's another fantastic four track release, and is in line with his previous EPs if not surpassing them, he's a growing artist and I'm looking forward to a full album release in the future, however long away that is...

5. Won't Let You Down - Orphan Colours

A name you might only recognise because of a very recent spotlight... However, previously featured Fred Abbott, best known for being a part of Noah and the Whale has joined London based supergroup, Orphan Colours. They're heading out on tour next week (dates and tickets here) and on Friday release their debut EP 'High Hopes' and this is the first single taken from it...

6. Lost E - My Cruel Goro

This is the brand new video for My Cruel Goro's latest single 'Lost E'. The Icelandic - Italian alt-rock trio have released this noisy burst of energy as the first taster of their upcoming sophomore EP... It's also available as a free download here (but I'd be paying money for this brilliantly addictive track). Enjoy!

7. James Bay
He's been nominated for four Brit Awards and we're supporting him to hopefully win all four... Good luck James!!
